Environmental Conservation has published maps showing where wake surfing would be allowed on 31 Vermont lakes. <a href=\"https:\/\/dec.vermont.gov\/watershed\/lakes-ponds\/maps-wake-sports-areas-based-proposed-draft-rule-conditions\">Take a look at your own lake.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This interactive map shown below of the 73 Vermont lakes that permit motor boating shows how the rule proposed by RWVL &#8211; with a 1000-foot offset &#8212; would affect each lake, as well as how the DEC&#8217;s draft rule, with a 500-foot offset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Green<\/strong> markers show lakes that&nbsp;<strong>will allow<\/strong>&nbsp;wake surfing under both proposed rules. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Yellow<\/strong> markers show lakes where wake surfing would be allowed under DEC&#8217;s proposal, but prohibited under RWVL&#8217;s.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Red<\/strong> markers show the lakes that&nbsp;<strong>will not allow<\/strong>&nbsp;wake surfing operations under either RWVL&#8217;s or DEC&#8217;s proposals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on a marker to learn feet or 500 feet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Lakes in pink would prohibit wake sports under either version of the rule; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Lakes in yellow would allow wake sports with the 500-foot rule, but prohibit them with the 1000-foot rule; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Lakes in green would allow wake sports under either rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <em>1000 feet<\/em> and <em>500 feet<\/em> columns,  <strong><em>No<\/em><\/strong> means wake sports would not be allowed at all; <em><strong>Yes<\/strong><\/em> means that wake sports would be allowed, but must operate at the required distance from shore. <em><strong>Homes<\/strong><\/em> indicates the number of homes, cottages, and camps on each lake. <em><strong>AIS<\/strong><\/em> refers to the presence of aquatic invasive
